Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: La Porte, IN
Position Description:
We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our fast-paced rural emergency department. This travel opportunity is available for a duration of 13 weeks, with immediate start dates available. This role is designed for nurses who thrive in dynamic environments and can adapt to varying patient needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to patients in the emergency department.
- Effectively communicate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions to identify changes and respond appropriately.
- Participate in de-escalation training and manage stressful situations with professionalism.
- May float to other emergency department locations as needed.
Shift Details:
- Shift: Days from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to Starke Hospital ED may be required
Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure in Indiana
- Certification in ACLS, BLS, and PALS
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an emergency department setting
- De-escalation training preferred
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred
Additional Information:
- Unit Capacity: 23 beds
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 4-5 patients per nurse
- Scrub Color: Navy blue
