Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Description
A Long Term Care facility is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in a similar environment. The RN will provide high-quality care to residents while ensuring their comfort and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to residents in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and record patient conditions and vital signs.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of patient care plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.
- Participate in staff training and development activities.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska required.
- Minimum of 1 year of Long Term Care experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Alaska Food Worker Certification required (can be obtained during orientation).
Work Schedule and Duration:
- Shifts: 4x12 hours, either day or night, based on facility needs.
- Assignment duration: Traveler’s choice of 26 or 13 weeks.
- Guaranteed hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks, with the possibility of being called off for one shift within those hours.
- Must be willing to work at least 2 of the major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's).
Additional Information:
- Ratios: 1 nurse to 20 residents.
- All nurses may be required to float within their scope of practice as needed.
- Free parking available.
- Shuttle transportation arranged to and from Anchorage at the beginning and end of the contract.
