Clinical Nurse
Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Clinical Nurse with a minimum of two years of experience. This role requires a strong background in caring for patients with a variety of conditions, including but not limited to congestive heart failure (CHF), respiratory distress, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response (A-fib RVR), diabetes mellitus (DM), and stroke (CVA) overflow. The position also involves managing patients in both ICU and telemetry settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including monitoring and assessing vital signs.
- Administer medications and manage intravenous drips, including diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitroglycerin, and heparin.
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, and monitor chest tubes and wound vacs.
- Handle blood product administration as needed.
- Monitor patients with femoral arterial sheaths and provide care for post-catheterization patients.
- Assist surgical patients, including those from vascular, abdominal, and gastrointestinal surgeries.
Qualifications
- Must have at least two years of clinical nursing experience.
- Experience with the following patient types: CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, and CVA overflow.
- Familiarity with managing chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral arterial sheaths.
- Preferred experience with arterial lines, Impella, and IABP.
- Current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
Work Environment
This position operates in a community hospital with a total of 226 beds, including 11 ICU beds. Nurses may be required to float to various units at the ICU level or below.
Shift Details
- Shifts available: 1900-0730 and 0700-1930
- Weekend rotation: every other weekend
- Scrub color: Any professional color
