Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality care to emergency patients while demonstrating critical thinking and leadership skills.
Job Details
- Location: Carlsbad, NM
- Shift: Nights, 6:30 PM - 7 AM
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Floating: Required within the nurse's scope and experience; potential floating to ICU
- Patient Ratio: 4:1
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in the Emergency Department by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in planning and delivering safe patient care.
- Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and professional development.
- Delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff.
- Supervise and direct personnel delivering patient care.
- Perform thorough patient assessments and effectively communicate findings.
- Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
- Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
- Adhere to safety standards, infection control protocols, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an emergency setting.
- Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC.
- NRP and ENPC certifications preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and adapt to changing conditions.
