Start Date: December 7, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM. Flexible contract options available for 36 or 48 hours per week. Contract lengths of 13-26 weeks accepted. Weekend requirement: 5-6 shifts over a 6-week scheduling period. Floating to other units as needed based on facility requirements.
Highlights
- Fast-paced cardiac telemetry unit caring for adult patients with congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, pacemaker/ICD implantations, and pre/post cardiac catheterization patients
- Hands-on experience with cardiac drips (Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, Diltiazem), sheath pulls, TR bands, and Femstop procedures
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Epic EMR charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
- 24-hour comprehensive orientation program to support your transition to the unit
- 43-bed unit with daily census of approximately 42 patients requiring cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
Requirements
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac telemetry, PCU, IMC, or stepdown nursing experience
- Strong proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with central line care, peripheral line management, blood product administration, and cardiac/vasoactive drip management and titration
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and float to other units as needed
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Ability to serve on Storm Team/Hurricane Team and report during catastrophic events or disasters as required
