Start Date: December 7, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), 36 or 48-hour weekly contracts available. Contract lengths from 13 to 26 weeks. Weekend requirement: 5-6 shifts over a 6-week scheduling period. Float to other units as needed based on facility requirements.
Highlights:
- Fast-paced cardiac telemetry unit caring for patients with congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, pacemaker/ICD implantations, and pre/post cardiac catheterization
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- EMR system: Epic; medication dispensing via Pyxis; SBAR communication protocols
- Hands-on experience with cardiac drips (Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, Diltiazem), sheath pulls, TR bands, and Femstop procedures
- 24-hour orientation to ensure successful integration into the unit
- First-time travelers welcome with strong progressive care or stepdown experience
Requirements:
- Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, IMC, or Stepdown settings
- Strong proficiency in cardiac monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and management of cardiac patients
- Experience with blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, cardiac and vasoactive drip management
- Must pass EKG testing prior to assignment start date
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and respond during emergency situations including storm teams or disaster response as needed
- Epic charting experience preferred; charge nurse experience preferred
