Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Mental Health
Location: Bellevue, NE 68113
Duration: 1 Year to 5 years
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 0730–1630 (9-hour day including a 1-hour unpaid lunch). Hours may flex between 0600 and 1800 at the government supervisor's discretion to meet patient needs. Not scheduled on federal holidays.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes in clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness
- Ensuring compliance with standards of care and all established MTF policies, procedures and guidelines
- Performing physical exams and health histories
- Providing health promotion, counseling and education
- Administering medications, providing wound care and delivering other personalized interventions
- Directing and supervising care provided by other healthcare professionals, and making patient care assignments based on scope of practice and skill level
- Recognizing adverse signs and symptoms and responding quickly in emergencies
- Communicating and collaborating with the healthcare team, patients and families on plans and actions, and providing education
- Making referral appointments and arranging specialty care as appropriate
- Conducting research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes
- Participating in clinic-level events such as shift huddles, staff meetings and local training exercises
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- Active, current, unrestricted RN license (any U.S. jurisdiction)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

- Previous mental health/psychiatric nursing experience
- Ability to provide documentation of required immunizations and physical examination, and to complete agency-required training
