Job Summary:-
- Serves as both a direct caregiver and care manager for assigned patients, implementing the nursing process during designated time frames.
- Directs, delegates, coordinates, supervises, and evaluates the work of other caregivers (nurses and non-nurses) to ensure quality patient care outcomes.
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments, including physiological, psychosocial, and cognitive evaluations.
- Implements patient care plans knowledgeably, skillfully, and according to established procedures, policies, and care plans.
- Identifies and addresses patient and family educational needs, and provides appropriate teaching.
- Accurately documents patient care and outcomes in electronic and/or paper medical records per policy and regulatory requirements.
- Respects and upholds patient and family rights, ensuring sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and adherence to organizational values.
- Delegates and supervises patient care activities appropriately, functioning effectively as a team leader.
- Organizes and prioritizes patient care using sound critical thinking and clinical judgment.
- May function as Charge Nurse, handling patient assignments, admissions, discharges, staff coverage, and serving as a unit lead.
- Maintains professional development through ongoing education, seminars, and workshops.
- Ensures adherence to safety protocols, infection control, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Interacts professionally and courteously with patients, families, physicians, and all healthcare team members.
- Maintains professional appearance and conduct, representing the organization positively.
- Performs additional duties as assigned to meet organizational standards.
- Works closely with patients, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal care and outcomes.
- Meets all licensure, certification, and continuing education requirements, including specific ICU certifications if applicable.
- Demonstrates physical and emotional stamina to meet the demands of acute patient care, including standing, lifting, and responding to emergencies.
- Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all stakeholders.
- Fulfills department- and specialty-specific requirements, including those related to ICU and Total Joint Program, as applicable.
Med Ninjas Job ID #6029. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
