Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)
The Level II Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering competent patient care based on established standards within the neuromusculoskeletal specialty. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, this role includes responsibilities in clinical practice, service excellence, professional development, and the integration of research and evidence-based practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide competent nursing care for patients in a medical-surgical setting.
- Perform telemetry monitoring and evaluate patient conditions effectively.
- Assume roles of charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver coordinated care.
- Maintain adherence to unit protocols and standards of practice.
- Participate in professional development and education initiatives.
Requirements
- New York State Registered Nurse (NYS RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical setting.
- Telemetry experience is required.
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS).
Schedule
Position requires availability for day, evening, and night shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed. The role may also involve on-call responsibilities.
