Job Description

Our Medical Surgical Unit is a 60-bed facility that handles a diverse range of patient populations, including post-surgical cases, various medical conditions, traumas, strokes, and inpatient hospice care. This role emphasizes patient-centered care, safety, and positive outcomes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Clinical Expertise: Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on comprehensive assessments and patient goals.
- Knowledge: Engage in ongoing professional development through certifications, advanced practice opportunities, and literature review.
- Leadership: Demonstrate leadership by sharing knowledge, serving as a clinical resource, and acting as a professional role model.
- Communication: Exhibit effective communication skills through collegial relationships and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Productivity: Showcase time management skills and assist team members to enhance overall team performance.
- Perform other duties as directed by competency-based objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of direct clinical experience in Medical Surgical nursing.
- Experience in a Level II or I trauma facility.
- Preferred travel experience.
- Completion of a skills checklist within the past year.
- Active nursing license in Michigan at the time of application.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Work Schedule
This position requires a commitment of 36 hours per week, with the option for overtime after 48 hours worked.
Weekend Requirements
Every other weekend availability is mandatory.
