Schedule: 12-hour evening shifts (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM), 36-48 hours per week. Minimum of 4 weekend days per 6-week time track, potentially every other weekend. Block scheduling not available.
Highlights:
- High-volume Emergency Department with 250 visits per day and 101 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-5 in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Regional referral and tertiary care center serving diverse patient populations across all age groups
- EPIC charting system with Pyxis medication management
- 13-week minimum contract commitment required through February 27, 2027
- 24 hours of comprehensive unit orientation provided
- Floating required between Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on facility needs
Requirements:
- Active RN license (NC or Compact state license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
- Previous charge experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (or MOAB)
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Proficiency in IV starts, triage, telemetry, and EPIC charting required
- Experience with acute psychosis, CVA, stroke protocols, STEMI care, procedural sedation, blood product administration, and managing violent/suicidal patients
- First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
