Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the traveler contributes clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients in the Labor and Delivery specialty.

Work Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Every third weekend required
• No on-call requirements

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for patients during labor and delivery.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor and assess high-risk pregnancies and provide high acuity care.
• Utilize advanced technology and equipment as needed in patient care.
• Keep accurate patient records and documentation using Epic EMR.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience.
• Experience in high-risk obstetrics and circulating in operating room settings.
• Recent experience in larger, high-volume delivery centers with approximately 200-300 deliveries per month.
• Multiple completed travel contracts preferred.
• Preferred experience with EPIC STORK.

Certifications Required

• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS)
• AHA or ARC Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• AWHONN Certification for Fetal Monitoring
• Certification from the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Orientation Schedule

• Orientation available on October 26 and November 9.

Holiday Requirements

• Must be available to work on 2 of the following 3 winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day.
• Only one day off request permitted between November 25-29 and December 23-27.

All candidates must be located at least 50 miles away from the facility based on their driver's license. A valid Iowa nursing license is required at the time of submission.
