Registered Nurse ER (Adult)

Scheduling Details and Charting

• Shift Hours: 7a-7p/7p-7a
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Charting Experience: EPIC experience required
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Requests for Time Off (RTO): Must submit requests upon application
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
• First-Time Travelers Accepted: Yes
• Local Candidates: RN's within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted

Required License/Certifications

• Active New York Single State RN license required (New York is not a compact state)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required. Valid NIHSS must be included in submission.

Required Clinical Skills

• IV therapy (blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, starting/maintaining IVs); IV vasopressors
• CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
• Management of CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI
• Cardiac monitoring (interpretation and management of dysrhythmias)
• Experience in emergency care (adult/pediatric ED, gunshot wounds, orthopedic trauma)
• Isolation precautions and triage experience; Pediatric spinal cord injury knowledge

Unit Details and Additional Information

• Patient Ratios: 1:5; Adults and Geriatrics with various emergency-type diagnoses
• Special Equipment: Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• Floating: May be required to float within skillset
• Scrub Color: Any combination of navy blue and white
