Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients on telemetry units, interpreting cardiac rhythms and responding to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and established nursing protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Iowa or a compact state license
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience in a telemetry or cardiac monitoring setting
- Ability to work night shifts, every other holiday, and every other weekend
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- Prior experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring equipment
- Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills in an acute care environment
