Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Skilled Nursing Facility
Facility Type/Setting: Long-Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility
Shift & Schedule: Nights, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM, 3×12-hour shifts
Weekly Hours: 36 hours scheduled per week
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Local Accepted?: No; candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend; 7 weekend shifts per contract
Holiday Requirements: Holiday shifts as needed
Floating: May be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
EMR: Epic — required
Scrub Color: Navy blue
Requirements:
- Active RN license; Kansas and Missouri licenses or a compact license must be in hand at submission.
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
- BLS certification.
- Epic charting experience.
- Skills in blood glucose monitoring, isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration via nasal cannula or face mask, and peripheral line care.
- COVID-19 vaccination not required.
- Flu vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions only.
Preferred Experience:
- Long-term care experience.
- Charge RN experience.
- Community hospital, LTAC, or Level I/II trauma experience.
- First-time travelers accepted.
Patient Population / Diagnoses:
- Geriatric patients
- Diabetes, dementia, CHF, COPD, CKD, physical decline, anxiety, depression, and Parkinson’s disease
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility.
- Monitor blood glucose and provide oxygen therapy as needed.
- Maintain peripheral IV access and provide appropriate line care.
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols.
- Assist with patient transfers using sit-to-stand and Hoyer lifts.
- Complete documentation in Epic.
- Accept holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed.
