Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse (RN) in a healthcare facility. Responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring safety standards are met. The RN supervises licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, and orientees, and contributes to positive patient outcomes through comprehensive assessments, patient education, and discharge planning.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts (12 hours per shift), minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification prior to first shift; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only); a minimum of 2 years bedside clinical experience required; open to candidates with 0 years of experience if specified.
- Responsibilities include: Performing nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission; developing and implementing patient care plans; timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses; participating in patient rehabilitation programs; initiating discharge planning and patient education; maintaining effective communication among care team members; supervising ancillary nursing personnel; adhering to safety protocols and promoting an environment of safety; providing patient care following the nursing process; participating in team building activities; managing supplies and equipment; and pursuing ongoing professional development.
- Orientation: Assumes charge responsibility following orientation as requested.
- Additional Information: The RN is expected to prioritize activities efficiently, contribute to a positive work environment, and perform other duties as needed.
