Behavioral Health RN – Inpatient Psychiatry
Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
- Weekends: Every other weekend or as needed
- Call: None
- Block scheduling: Not available
- Floating: Required
- Orientation: Biweekly on scheduled Mondays or Tuesdays; must attend the assigned orientation date.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- BLS certification required
- HWC certification required per posting
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient psychiatric experience
- Previous behavioral health experience required
- Must be comfortable caring for both adult and pediatric patients
- ACLS preferred
Unit & Patient Details
- Inpatient behavioral health setting
- 104 beds across five units
- Patient population: Adults, geriatrics, and children ages 5–17
- Typical patient ratio: 1:8; lower ratios for pediatric and geriatric units
- EHR: Cerner
- Common conditions: Schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorders, and anxiety
- Scrub color: Blue
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and provide direct and indirect nursing care.
- Develop and implement care plans with patients, families, and the care team.
- Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to physicians and supervisors.
- Participate in discharge planning.
