Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse to join our team. This position involves floating to various pediatric units, including PICU, NICU, pediatric medical-surgical, pediatric PACU, pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a passion for providing exceptional care to pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients across multiple units.
- Demonstrate proficiency in critical care nursing for both PICU and NICU.
- Serve as a vital resource, supporting various pediatric units as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to clinical protocols and policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in PICU is required; NICU experience is also necessary.
- BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
- Experience in pediatric PACU is highly preferred.
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification is required or must be obtained, with a cost associated.
- Previous float pool experience in NICU/PICU is favorable.
- Must have experience with Epic electronic health record system.
- Virginia nursing license is required; candidates with pending licensure may be considered.
Work Schedule
This position requires a commitment of 36 or 48 hours per week, with shifts scheduled during the day. Specific scheduling preferences cannot be guaranteed. The nurse must be available to work every other weekend and every other holiday, including two out of the three winter holidays. Approval for time off is limited during the initial period of employment.
Additional Information
Candidates must adhere to the float pool policy and be adaptable to varying work environments within the pediatric units. This role is critical in ensuring comprehensive care for patients across diverse clinical settings.
