PICU Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PICU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The ideal candidate will have experience with critical care procedures and a strong commitment to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for pediatric patients in critical condition, including those with respiratory failure, renal failure, trauma, and multi-system organ failure.
- Administer and monitor treatments such as Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO).
- Work with various medical technologies, including ventilators and inotropic drips.
- Float to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Emergency Department as needed.
- Be prepared to manage 2 intubated patients when necessary.
Job Details
- Shift: Rotating shifts are required; flexibility for day and night shifts throughout the contract period.
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Weekend Requirements: 4 weekend shifts for day shifts; 5 weekend shifts for night shifts (Friday through Sunday nights counted as weekends).
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week; the facility may call off staff up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1.5 years of PICU experience required.
- Current BLS and PALS certifications are required.
- Must possess an active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
- Experience with CRRT, ECMO procedures, and inotropic drips preferred.
Additional Information
- Flu shot is required for all staff.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Pending licenses are accepted.
- Requests for time off greater than 7 days will require approval.
- Staff may be requested to cross-train for pediatric assignments as optional.
