Type of Patients

This position involves caring for a diverse patient population, including:

• Pediatric
• Adult
• Geriatric

Typical Cases

The RN will assist in various surgical cases, including but not limited to:

• Pain management (injections/Kyphoplasty)
• Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) procedures (ear tubes, tonsils, sinus surgeries, thyroid surgeries)
• Urological surgeries (cysto, TURP, PCNL, Lithotripsy, robotic sacrocolpopexy, partial kidney surgeries)
• Gynecological surgeries (total laparoscopic hysterectomy, ablations, laparoscopic gynecology, D&C)
• Podiatry
• General surgeries (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernias)
• Orthopedic surgeries (hip pinning, knee scope, shoulder scopes)

Please note that Labor and Delivery (L&D) cases, such as C-sections and deliveries, are managed separately.

Required Qualifications

• BLS certification via AHA required
• ACLS certification via AHA required
• PALS certification via AHA required
• RN License in the state of employment or compact required

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse demonstrates competence in practice within a surgical setting, providing both routine and complex care to patients. The RN is responsible for making nursing diagnoses, planning care, and evaluating patient outcomes. This role requires the ability to manage various clinical contingencies effectively and to provide appropriate assignments to other care providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet expectations outlined in the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients, in alignment with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
• Address the complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families according to their care requirements.
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately.
• Assess educational needs and provide instruction to patients, family members, and caregivers, while identifying pertinent issues and available resources.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with scheduled hours from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
