RN – Medical-Surgical (Block Scheduling) | Thomasville, GA
Location: 915 Gordon Ave, Thomasville, GA 31792
Unit: MedSurg – Oncology Floor
Contract: 13 weeks, with possible extension
Shift: Days/Nights | 3×12 preferred; 4×12 also considered
Weekend: Every other weekend required
Patient Ratio: 1:6 to 1:7
Block Scheduling: Considered
EMR: Cerner & Soarian
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to join an Oncology-focused MedSurg unit caring for adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients. The RN should be comfortable managing higher patient ratios of 1:6–1:7 and working in a fast-paced inpatient environment.
Key Clinical Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent MedSurg RN experience – Required
- Experience managing 1:6 or higher patient ratios – Required
- Oncology experience – Highly preferred
- Previous travel experience – Preferred
- BLS – Required
- Telemetry experience – Required
- IV start experience – Required
- Cerner and/or Soarian experience preferred
Schedule & Assignment Details
- 3×12-hour shifts preferred; 4×12-hour shifts may be considered
- Every other weekend required
- Block scheduling may be considered
- Possible extension after the initial 13-week assignment
Additional: Travelers are expected to be comfortable with a high-acuity MedSurg/Oncology environment and higher patient ratios.
