Job Summary
Critical Care Registered Nurse (ICU) Nights located at the healthcare organizations ICU unit. This role involves providing specialized care to high-acuity patients with a focus on medical-surgical and thoracic/cardiovascular conditions. The position requires collaboration with a dedicated ICU team to deliver excellent patient outcomes.

Job Details

  • Position Description: Critical Care Registered Nurse (ICU) at the organizations ICU unit. Responsibilities include managing patients with complex conditions such as respiratory failure, ARDS, CHF, COPD, post STEMI, post arrest, post surgical, CABG, carotid, DKA, GI bleed, overdose, ETOH withdrawal, CVA with or without TNK, renal failure, among others. No trauma, hemorrhagic strokes, or neuro surgery cases.
  • Certifications Required: ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS (American Heart Association).
  • Qualifications: Registered Nurse license, minimum of 3 years of ICU experience, recent Epic electronic medical record experience within the last year.
  • Education: Active RN licensure.
  • Location Requirements: No specific geographic requirements specified.
  • Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 48 hours per week. Shift times are 1830-0700.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of ICU experience; no first-time travelers accepted.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Titrate drips such as pressure support, sedation, paralytics, insulin, heparin, and others. Manage ventilators, BiPAP, HiFlow nasal cannula, and Nihon Koden monitors. Responsible for all EKG monitoring and interpretation.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Submission Requirements: Must provide date of birth, Social Security number, and a supervisor reference from the most recent or current assignment. Must note if clinician has previously worked for the organization.
  • Orientation: Two shifts: one classroom and unit orientation from 0700-1900, followed by on-unit orientation with a preceptor for a 12-hour shift.
