Job Summary (in list format):

- Perform comprehensive and accurate patient assessments for all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric.
- Deliver competent and appropriate direct patient care within the unit, utilizing strong clinical skills.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation in accordance with guidelines, including patient education.
- Demonstrate professionalism by adhering to policies and procedures and identifying opportunities for clinical and professional growth.
- Promote patient and family satisfaction by maintaining a courteous and positive environment and upholding patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
- Ensure patient safety by following National Patient Safety Goals, Universal Protocol, and using proper patient identification and transfer techniques.
- Apply knowledge of surgical conditions, procedures, and equipment to individualize patient care across the perioperative continuum.
- Take responsibility and accountability for prioritizing and directing patient care, responding to changes in patient conditions.
- Provide patient and family education before and after surgery, ensuring understanding of procedures and instructions.
- Support Pre Admission Testing (PAT) by ensuring timely completion, evaluating orders for appropriateness, and identifying potential omissions.
- Work a 12-hour shift (7a-7p) and float as needed to various critical care units, including Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, PACU, Cardiac PACU, CCU, Med/Surg Step Down, Neurovascular Step Down, and Cardiac Step Down.
- Meet minimum requirements: 1 year ICU experience, active RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
