Job Description
The Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care through the utilization of the nursing process. This role involves collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to maintain high standards for professional nursing practice. Responsibilities include carrying out functions according to hospital policy, the institution's mission, and standards defined by professional and regulatory guidelines. The RN will direct, coordinate, and delegate activities to foster patient and family-centered care.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Assess the physical, psychosocial, and educational needs of patients.
- Plan and implement nursing care based on patient and family needs.
- Make appropriate interventions according to individual patient needs.
- Evaluate patient responses to nursing interventions.
- Assume personal responsibility for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, environment, and professional development.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse required.
- Completion of at least one travel assignment required.
- Primarily ICU experience is required; CVICU experience is preferred.
- Current ACLS certification is required; a copy must be provided.
- Michigan nursing license verification is required.
Additional Information
The position requires the RN to work three 12-hour shifts with a 36-hour guarantee, with an expectation to work every other weekend. This role does not require on-call availability. A strict attendance policy is in place, with the potential for immediate termination after three instances of absence or tardiness exceeding 20 minutes.
