Job Overview

A leading healthcare provider is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join a dynamic Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in emergency care, a commitment to providing compassionate patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients, including those presenting with STEMI, stroke, and Level 2 trauma.
• Perform triage, IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation as needed.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort while accommodating up to 170 visits per day.
• Adhere to established patient care protocols and respond effectively to emergencies.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an Emergency Department or similar setting.
• Proficient in IV starts, triage, telemetry, and conscious sedation.
• Required certifications: TNCC, ACLS, NIH, MOAB, BLS, and PALS. EKG testing must be passed prior to start.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• ENPC certification is a plus.
• Experience handling trauma patients is preferred.

Shift and Scheduling Details

• 12-hour night shifts: 18:45 - 07:15
• Contract options available: 48-hour contracts and 13-week contracts accepted.
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend.
• No call or float requirement.

Patient Care Ratios

• Non-Critical Patients: 3:1 (4:1 during high-call out scenarios)
• Critical Patients: 2:1
• Medical Boarders in ED: 5:1

Unit Systems and Orientation

• Experience with PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems is beneficial.
• Orientation duration: 36 or 48 hours.
• Standard scrub color: Navy Blue.
