Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15), 36 hours per week. Every other weekend required with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. 13- to 26-week contract available.

Highlights:

• High-volume birthing unit averaging 20 births per 24-hour period and over 300 births per month
• 2:1 patient ratios with average of 30-40 admits daily and 40 visits per day
• Fast-paced environment caring for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater, including high-risk antepartum and postpartum care
• Integrated obstetrical triage unit for patient screening and routine outpatient procedures
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• 24-hour orientation with scrubs provided
• Float to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years Labor & Delivery experience required; 3 years preferred
• Proven experience in high-volume settings with 300+ births per month required
• Proficiency in circulating for C-sections, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care
• Current BLS, AWHONN Intermediate (or C-EFM), and NRP certifications required
• Competency in high-risk antepartum care, labor and delivery, LDRP, and triage of obstetrical patients
• Experience with IV starts and maintenance, pain assessment and management, and isolation precautions
• North Carolina or Compact state RN license
• First-time travelers accepted with appropriate high-volume experience
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
