Job Opportunity – Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse – Fort Defiance, AZ 86504
Start Date: October 14, 2026
Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 guaranteed hours per week. Flexibility required for day shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. Assignment duration is 91 days (approximately 3 months).
Highlights:
- Provide comprehensive care in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn units
- Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) environment with rooming-in practices
- Average patient volume of 40 deliveries and 6 cesarean sections per month
- Opportunity to serve as charge nurse after completing charge nurse training
- Charge rate differential available for charge nurse responsibilities
- On-call compensation provided at $5 per hour pager rate
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 5 years recent experience in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care in a healthcare setting
- American Heart Association ACLS or ALSO certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring certification (RNC-EFM may substitute)
- Willingness to float to other departments as needed based on qualifications
