Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Fullerton, CA 92835
Start Date: October 6, 2026
Location: Fullerton, California
Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (12:00 PM - 12:30 AM). Weekend requirements may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs—must be available to work at least 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule cycle. Float to telemetry hold and ICU hold units as needed.
Highlights:
- High-acuity, high-volume Emergency Department with approximately 230 visits per day and 36 beds with overflow capacity
- Designated Stroke and STEMI Center at a Magnet-recognized acute care hospital with 320 staffed beds
- 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio across all shifts
- Diverse patient population including all ages (primarily geriatric and adult; approximately 10% pediatric patients)
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and lift teams
- Free parking and 12 hours of orientation provided
Requirements:
- Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 1.5 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required (2 years preferred)
- Stroke experience required—this is a critical requirement for this position
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: TNCC and CEN or CPN
- Epic charting experience highly preferred
- Proficiency in emergency medications, IV management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, drip titration, procedural sedation, and triage
- Experience with stroke-certified facilities and STEMI protocols required
- Limited pediatric experience acceptable; candidates will not be responsible for trauma cases
- Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
