Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic ER team. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, the ability to assess and manage acute conditions, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting
- Required Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Shift Details
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday requirements
- First to float as needed
Unit Information
- Department: Emergency Room
- Trauma Level: II
- Number of Beds/Trauma Bays: 21 (including fast track)
- A separate Triage area is available
- Psych room with surveillance cameras available
- Security is in-house 24/7
- Average Patient Volume: 50-60 patients per day
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 based on acuity, possibly 5 with boarding
- Common Diagnoses: Trauma, strokes, abdominal pain, and other acute conditions
- Common Drips: Vasopressors, heparin, antiarrhythmics
- Nursing Orientation: 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
- Scrub Color: Any color scrubs
Additional Information
- Respiratory Therapy available as needed, not on-site 24/7
- Radiology services (X-Ray and CT) are adjacent to the ER
- Nurses perform lab draws as needed; phlebotomy resources available
- 1-2 ED techs present per shift to assist with patient care tasks
