Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department
Location: Asheville, NC
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. This role focuses on delivering exceptional patient care in a high-volume environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients in critical situations.
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 101
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
- Staffing Description: Including Techs available in cardiac monitoring and internal processing, unit clerks on days and nights
- Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend; unable to commit to block scheduling
- Floating Policy: No floating outside of the Emergency Department, but must be open to floating to all sections within the department
- Patient Experience Requirements: AIDET, respectful behavior, regular updates to patients, and appropriate use of information boards
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
- Experience in a Level II trauma center or comprehensive stroke center preferred
- Ability to work in a high-volume environment with over 100,000 ED visits annually
- Teamwork mentality with a willingness to provide coaching and real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department
- Certifications required upon hire:
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- TNCC
- CPI
- NIHSS
- ENPC (within 90 days of hire)
Dress Code
Standard uniform includes navy scrubs.
