TLC Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

 Position: Emergency Department RN (Level I Trauma center)- Location: UNMH (facility details below)- Shift type: 12-hour shifts (contract options: 36, 40, or 48 hours/week) - 48-hour option only for travelers with BOTH Level I trauma experience and prior travel experience- Patient focus: ED care with high admit-hold volume (approx. 60–80% admitted)- Ratio: 1:5 (days, nights, weekends)- Start date: not provided

 

Experience Requirements- Years required: 2 years required (will review 1.5 years)- Trauma: Level I trauma experience preferred; Level II required- Travel: travel experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers may be considered if Level I trauma + 2+ years experience- Charge experience: preferred

 

Unit Details- Unit: Emergency Department (includes ED Holding, potential Trauma/Resuscitation areas)- Patient population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics- Daily census/volume: ~170–200; ~175 visits/day- Rooms/beds: ~53 rooms / 68 ED beds- Interdisciplinary support: Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Work, Transport, Interpreter services, Unit Secretary

 

Scheduling & Floating- Shift length: 12-hour shifts; contracted options 36 / 40 / 48 hours/week- Weekend coverage: travelers scheduled for weekends as needed - Weekend day = Sat–Sun; Weekend nights = Fri–Sun- Holiday requirement: MUST work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles (Thanksgiving & day after; Christmas Eve & Christmas Day; NYE & NYD) - NO LONGER ALLOWING CHRISTMAS RTO- RTO/time-off rules: - No RTO during first 7 days or last day of contract - RTO >7 days requires approval - Facility may call off staff up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment- Floating: - Floating to adult PCUs (Med Surg patients) is an expectation - Floating to ED Holding and Trauma may be required - Floating to Peds ED is optional

 

Certifications & Skills- Required certifications (must have TNCC prior to submission): - TNCC (required before submission) - ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS/NIH (NIH can pend until compliance doc due date)- Clinical skills (summary): - Emergency/trauma/resuscitation experience - Medication administration including IV/vasopressors - Central/arterial line care, blood product administration - Care of ventilated patients, procedural sedation, triage - Familiarity with stroke/STEMI processes- Notes: - RQI certifications NOT accepted

Charting & Scrubs- Charting system: Cerner- Orientation: ~24 hours (unit-specific)- Scrub color: black (facility guidance)- Parking: no fee

 

Facility Information- Facility type: Level I Trauma, Teaching hospital, Children's hospital, Short-term acute care- Total staffed beds: 554- Contract/assignment rules: - 

Minimum new/existing contract length: 10 weeks - After 4 consecutive assignments or 1 year of consecutive work, a 6-month system break required - Return-to-staff/permanent staff separation requirements apply (see compliance)Compliance Notes- Doc due date: compliance documents due ~10 days prior to start- Required pre-employment: begin compliance within 1–2 weeks of signing; drug screen within 30 days of start- Licensure: - Pending NM license accepted at submission - Non-local driver’s license required on file - No locals within 100-mile radius-
