RN Case Manager – Acute Care Hospital
Position: RN Case Manager
Shift: Day – 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Schedule: 5×8 hours, Monday–Friday
Contract: 13 weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Patient Ratio: 1:20
Orientation: 40 hours
Local Rule: Candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower bill rate
Weekend: Weekend rotation as needed by department
RTO: Maximum 7 days; must be submitted upfront
Required
- Active CA RN license or Compact RN license
- Compact license must be in hand at submission
- Pending CA license accepted, but must be active by start date
- Minimum 2 years of acute-care hospital Case Manager experience
- Experience performing:
- Care coordination
- Discharge planning
- Patient assessment
- Treatment planning
- Hospital experience is mandatory
- EPIC charting experience
- Ability to independently arrange:
- DME
- SNF placement
- Ambulance transportation
- Experience with HMOs and IPAs
- Experience with family meetings and treatment-plan development
- Knowledge of InterQual admission criteria
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications
- 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- RTO must be provided at submission
- Must be willing to work 3 of the 5 designated holidays
- BLS
Preferred
- First-time travelers are accepted; clinical team will screen first-time travelers
- Community hospital experience is listed as preferred
Important Experience Requirement
Behavioral health experience alone does NOT qualify as acute-care hospital Case Manager experience. Candidates with only behavioral health experience should not be submitted.

- Candidate must disclose any previous Providence employment, travel contract, or registry/per-diem work, including location and dates
- Previously permanent Providence staff may return after 3 months
- Providence does not accept Nursys or background-check hits
- Must provide RTO/scheduling requests upfront
- Travelers may have up to 3 absences during the 13-week contract
- No Call-In: candidates should not contact facility staff directly unless an interview has been arranged
- Modules are completed pre-start and during orientation and are non-billable
