Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatrics

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Pediatrics to join our team on a night shift basis. This role involves caring for pediatric patients across various specialties, including Hematology/Oncology, Medical-Surgical, and others, while also supporting our pediatric emergency department as needed.

Position Details

• Shift: Nights, 7 pm to 7 am, 36 hours per week
• Holiday rotation required
• On-call availability may be necessary during low census hours, specifically from 11 pm to 7 am
• Weekend commitment: Every 3rd weekend
• Potential to float to the pediatric emergency department, NICU, and PICU for support

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Manage and provide care for pediatric patients across various specialties
• Ensure high standards of patient care and safety
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement patient care plans
• Maintain effective communication with patients and their families

Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 months of Pediatric and/or Oncology nursing experience is required
• Experience within the last 18 months in a Pediatric setting is required
• Hematology/Oncology experience is highly preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records systems within the last 12 months is required
• Must be willing to float to the emergency department and other units as needed
• Current and active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification are required
• APHON certification is a plus
