Job Description

The Professional RN Team Lead is responsible for time management, critical thinking, delegation, and prioritization in patient care. This role includes direct patient care such as assessment, monitoring, recording, and reporting changes in patients' conditions. The RN Team Lead collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team and advocates for patients while maintaining ethical and professional standards within their scope of practice.

This position also involves promoting evidence-based practices and maintaining clinical competence specific to the care area while coordinating care with the interdisciplinary team. The RN Team Lead will document thoroughly in the electronic medical record (EMR) and participate in unit councils and staff meetings.

Responsibilities

• Manage time, delegate tasks, and prioritize patient care effectively.
• Perform assessments and monitor patients' conditions while documenting and reporting changes.
• Collaborate with the care team and advocate for patient needs.
• Maintain clinical competence through required education and on-going training.
• Participate in unit councils, staff meetings, and promote best practices.
• May need to assume LPN Med Cart responsibilities as required by staffing needs.

Required Experience

• Experience in a nursing role, ideally as a Team Lead or similar position.
• Strong critical thinking and time management skills.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.
