# Job Opportunity – Postpartum Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36-hour orientation; weekend coverage required; may float to units with similar acuity as needed

Highlights:

• Work in a 40-bed inpatient postpartum unit providing family-centered care to mothers and newborns
• Couplet care model with daily census of approximately 60 patients
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
• EPIC charting system experience required; telemetry interpretation skills required with EKG exam completion prior to start
• Care for postpartum patients following vaginal and cesarean deliveries, healthy newborns, and neonatal abstinence syndrome infants
• Two pre-approved time off periods available; strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start date

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of postpartum nursing experience required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• IV start skills and labor & delivery experience required
• EPIC electronic medical record experience required
• Telemetry interpretation skills with ability to pass EKG exam prior to start
• Valid compact or Ohio RN license in hand at time of application
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous travel nursing experience

Clinical Skills Utilized:

Administration of blood products, antihypertensives, bladder assessment and Foley catheter insertion, breastfeeding instruction, cord care, discharge teaching, episiotomy and incision care, fundus/lochia/perineum care, infant identification, IV antibiotics, magnesium sulfate therapy, newborn assessment and hypoglycemia management, pain management, phototherapy, Pitocin administration, postpartum hemorrhage management, pregnancy-induced hypertension care, IV initiation and maintenance, circumcision care teaching, thermoregulation, breast pump education, and vaccine administration.
