Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit/Telemetry (PCU/Tele) is responsible for evaluating assigned patients, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care. This role assists physicians during examinations and procedures, performs various patient tests, and administers medications within the scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and plan individualized care strategies.
- Assist physicians with examinations and medical procedures.
- Perform tests and administer medications according to protocols.
- Promote patient independence by establishing care goals and educating patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
- Utilize experience and judgment to meet care objectives.
- Float between departments and various facilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license in Arizona.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a PCU or Telemetry setting.
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this nursing specialty.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically Cerner, is required.
- Ability to manage cardiac drips and familiarity with procedures like TAVRs and Watchman mitral clips.
Work Schedule
This position primarily operates on the night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a commitment to work 3 twelve-hour shifts and 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule.
Unit Information
This role is located in a step-down unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1.
