Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and treatment plans using Cerner charting system.
- Participate in patient and family education and discharge planning.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in PCU/Stepdown nursing.
- Active PA or compact nursing license.
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- Experience with patient ratios of 6:1 and managing telemetry patients.
- Proficiency in handling various medical equipment and procedures such as BiPAP/CPAP management, central line care, and cardiac telemetry.
- Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend as scheduled.
- Preferred experience with Cerner charting system and trauma level II care.
