Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit – Eureka, CA 95501
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Eureka, California
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00 - 06:30), 13-week assignment. Patient ratio 1:4. 24-hour orientation provided.
Highlights:
- Progressive Care Unit position with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and lift teams
- Work with adult and geriatric patient populations in a well-supported environment
- Epic charting system experience required; gain valuable experience with cardiac telemetry and critical care procedures
- Opportunity to work in a community setting with manageable patient ratios and structured orientation
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Requirements:
- Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; at least 1 year of stepdown or ICU experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Epic charting system experience required
- Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, central line management, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, and IV management
- Experience with cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and pre/post cardiac procedures
- Current work references covering 1 year within the last 3 years; must have worked in the discipline within the last 6 months
- Clean background check required; candidates must reside outside 50-mile local radius
