Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR)
Location: Rochester, NY
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hours (11:00 AM – 9:30 PM)
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Operating Room RN experience.
- Previous travel nursing experience required.
- BLS certification required.
- CNOR certification preferred.
- Epic charting experience preferred.
- Teaching hospital experience preferred.
- First-time travelers are not accepted.
- New York license required; pending licenses are not accepted.
- Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted.
- Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement.
- Teal scrubs required.
Clinical Skills and Experience
- General OR, orthopedic surgery, total joint replacement, and trauma.
- Neurological procedures, including craniotomy, spinal fusion, and laminectomy/discectomy.
- Vascular and cardiovascular procedures, including aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, and endovascular aneurysm repair.
- General surgery, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, thyroidectomy, and Whipple procedures.
- Gynecological procedures, including hysterectomy, D&C, and laparoscopic procedures.
- Urological procedures, including cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and TURP.
- Thoracic procedures, including thoracotomy, lung resection, and VATS.
- ENT procedures, including tonsillectomy, tracheostomy, and sinus procedures.
- Plastic and reconstructive surgery, including mastectomy with TRAM flap reconstruction and microvascular free flap procedures.
- Bariatric procedures, including gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, and Lap-Band.
- Endoscopic procedures, including bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, and PEG tube placement/exchange.
- Robotic surgery experience with the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
