Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires a strong nursing background with specialized expertise in wound care management to provide exceptional patient care.
Schedule
- Full-time position
- 5x8 hour shifts from 07:30 to 16:00, Monday through Friday
- One Saturday shift per month
- Every third weekend required
- Availability for every other holiday as needed
Qualifications
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- WCC (Wound Care Certified)
- Preferred Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- WOCN (Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse)
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience required
- Experience in a hospital setting is necessary
- Travel experience is required
- Charge nurse experience is preferred
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records is required
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage various types of wounds, including Stage I-IV pressure ulcers
- Conduct thorough wound assessments and develop appropriate care plans
- Utilize specialized equipment such as wound vacs and other novel therapies
- Document wound conditions and healing progress using camera photography
- Provide care for patients with routine and complex dermatological conditions, including new and chronic pressure injuries and ostomy placements
Patient Population
The Wound Care RN will work with patients experiencing a range of conditions, including:
- Routine pressure injuries
- New and chronic wounds
- Diverse dermatological issues, including necrotizing fascitis and other rare conditions
- New ostomy placements
Additional Requirements
All employees are required to have the seasonal flu vaccine.
