Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Telemetry

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Cardiac Telemetry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing quality care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring, including those with arrhythmias, chest pain, and heart failure. This position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment with a focus on patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including monitoring telemetry patients and managing dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications and cardiac drips, including Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Lasix, and Heparin.
• Interpret EKGs and respond appropriately to patient condition changes.
• Perform cardiac GTT and collaborate with the heart failure navigator.
• Float to other telemetry units as necessary to meet patient care needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a telemetry or cardiac nursing setting.
• First-time travelers will be accepted.
• Current certifications: ACLS and BCLS.
• Ability to interpret EKGs and manage dysrhythmias effectively.

Work Schedule

The position requires working night shifts, from 18:45 to 07:15. Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 36 or 48 hours per week, with weekend requirements of 4 weekend days within a 6-week time frame.

Patient Population

The unit will handle a variety of patients needing telemetry monitoring, including those with chest pain, arrhythmias, pacemakers, or defibrillators.

Unit Information

• Patient Ratios: 1:5-6.
• Orientation: 36 hours of unit-specific orientation is provided.
• Scrubs: Navy scrubs required; not provided by the unit.

Additional Requirements

All candidates must pass EKG testing prior to the start of their assignment.
