Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Telemetry
Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in cardiac telemetry to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care for adult patients with various cardiac and medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize a medication management system (Pyxis & Omnicell) and documentation system (EPIC) effectively.
- Provide care for patients with diagnoses including chest pain, acute coronary syndrome, cardiac arrhythmias, diabetes, syncope, CVA/TIA, pneumonia, heart failure, COPD, sepsis, GI bleeding, and surgical patients spanning multiple specialties.
- Monitor patients using telemetry systems and perform special procedures as required.
- Administer continuous intravenous infusions and IV push medications in accordance with established policies.
- Float to other like units or facilities as necessary based on patient care needs.
Special Procedures
- Cardiac/telemetry monitoring
- Pulse oximetry
- Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
- Negative pressure isolation (AFB)
- Thoracentesis/Paracentesis
- Dialysis
Qualifications
- Current RN license in South Carolina.
- CPR (BLS) certification and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in cardiac telemetry is required.
- First-time travelers will be considered based on experience.
Schedule
This position requires flexibility to cover every other weekend and night shifts (3x12 hours). Specific shift scheduling may vary based on unit needs.
