Job Title: RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location: 1740 Nicholasville Road, B08, Lexington, KY 40503

Duration: 13 weeks

Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts per week; weekends and holidays as needed

Hours: 36 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings in accordance with hospital policies and nursing standards.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans based on patient needs and clinical assessments.
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in health status, and communicate concerns promptly to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications, perform wound care and IV therapy, and carry out prescribed treatments and nursing procedures.
• Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges while ensuring continuity of care.
• Educate patients and families about treatments, procedures, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Prioritize patient care based on acuity, delegate tasks appropriately, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote patient safety, satisfaction, and evidence-based nursing practices.

Required Qualifications

• ADN or ASN degree required; BSN preferred.
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the applicable state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Recent acute care experience required by the unit.
• Strong patient assessment, critical-thinking, clinical decision-making, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and medical equipment.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education skills.
