Tele Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Tele Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a stepdown unit. This position requires a combination of critical thinking, technical skills, and compassionate patient care for those in need of intensive nursing support.
Shift and Schedule
- Shift: Nights
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
- Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
- Weekends: No weekends required
- Holidays: Required every other holiday
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Stepdown Acute
- Number of Beds: 30
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:4 (may stretch to 5 during high census)
- Common Diagnoses: Cardiac, NSTEMI, post-cath lab, AFib, CHF, GI bleed, detox, respiratory distress, sepsis
Responsibilities
- Administer and titrate IV nitroglycerin, heparin, diltiazem, and amiodarone as needed
- Monitor patients for any changes in condition and respond accordingly
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Supervise nursing aides and ensure quality of care is maintained
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
- Experience with titration of drips is a must
- IV management experience preferred
- Experience with arterial lines is appreciated but not required
Additional Information
- Charge nurses will take 2 patients while overseeing unit operations
- Respiratory therapy equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and Optiflow
- Telemetry technicians are available on the unit; RNs will not need to read their own strips
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
- Orientation provided for up to 3 days
