Registered Nurse - Operating Room/Circulating
Shift Information
This position requires a commitment to a four-day work week, specifically from Tuesday through Friday. On-call coverage is also required at a rate of one out of every three shifts.
Position Summary
This role is based in the Operating Room, where a variety of elective and emergency surgeries are performed, including but not limited to abdominal, thoracic, urology, ENT, plastic, orthopedics, vascular, and OB/GYN cases. The ideal candidate will manage multiple tasks effectively to ensure surgical procedures proceed in a timely and efficient manner throughout the day. This position may also entail utilizing after-hours call services to staff the Operating Rooms for nights, holidays, and weekends.
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Associate degree in nursing, or diploma in nursing.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- A valid and current RN license in the State of Alaska is mandatory.
- A minimum of three years of experience in the Operating Room is required.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required.
- Experience in critical access hospitals and/or rural operating rooms is strongly preferred.
Additional Information
In this role, you will be expected to provide high-quality patient care and support during surgical procedures, collaborating closely with surgical teams to maintain a safe and efficient operating environment.
