Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Urbana, Illinois.

Job Summary :
- Patient Monitoring: Track continuous cardiac rhythms via telemetry, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, and vital signs.
- Assessments & Diagnostics: Perform frequent head-to-toe and specialized assessments (such as neuro checks or urine output tracking) to catch early signs of patient deterioration.
- Medication & Drips: Administer complex IV medications, titrate specialized drug drips (e.g., heparin, nitroglycerin), and manage blood transfusions.
- Equipment Management: Operate intermediate care tech like non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP), high-flow oxygen, wound vacs, Foley catheters, and feeding tubes.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and physical therapists to coordinate care plans and discharge needs.
- Post-Operative & Cardiac Care: Manage recovery for patients with complex surgical histories, cardiac events, or respiratory complications transitioning out of the ICU.
- Patient & Family Education: Explain treatment plans, recovery steps, and medication regimens to patients and their families.
- Documentation & Leadership: Maintain electronic health records (EHR) and oversee PCU nursing assistants and support staff.
Med Ninjas Job ID #18264. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
