Job Summary
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) located at an acute care hospital level I trauma center. This role involves providing specialized recovery care for patients following surgical procedures, with a focus on critical care skills such as arterial line management, pain assessment, and post-operative monitoring. The position requires a minimum of two years of critical care experience and certification in ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
Job Details
- Position / Specialty: PACU RN Post Anesthesia Care Unit
- Shift: Nights (3x12-hour shifts)
- Schedule: Nights, 36 hours per week, starting 11/16/2026 and ending 02/15/2027
- Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois license, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications, minimum 2 years of critical care experience, and completed training in Cerner charting system.
- Open to accommodating block schedule: Discuss schedule requests with the manager.
- Open to first-time travelers: No
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Clinical Requirements: Experience in ambulatory/outpatient, inpatient, Level I trauma, pain management, Phase I PACU, and Phase II recovery settings. Skills needed include arterial line management, central venous pressure monitoring, and management of various surgical cases such as bariatrics, neuro, ortho/spine, plastics, and urology.
- Responsibilities: Providing post-operative recovery care, adhering to clinical protocols for special procedures, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
