Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Arlington, Texas. The position provides post-anesthesia care, airway management, medication administration, patient monitoring, and rapid assessment for patients recovering from surgery. The role supports collaborative care within a fast-paced surgical services environment.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; more than 2 years of critical care or Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience; strong communication skills; ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Schedule: Day shifts of 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities may include removal of oral or nasal airways, oxygen titration and weaning, bladder scanning, straight catheterization as ordered, electrocardiogram monitoring and interpretation, blood glucose monitoring, dressing reinforcement, drain assessment, specimen handling, airway management, intravenous medication administration, moderate sedation recovery, emergency response, and rapid patient assessment. The unit supports a typical patient ratio of 2:1 and requires approximately 56 on-call shifts per month, along with 2 weekend day or night shifts per month.
