Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Operating Room. The position provides perioperative nursing care for elective, urgent, and emergent patients in a Level 1 Trauma operating room. Responsibilities include preparing patients for surgery, monitoring vital signs, assisting the surgical team, maintaining a sterile field, and coordinating patient care before, during, and after procedures.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week; scheduling may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse license; American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; MAB or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification; City Fire and Life Safety card; completion of the county employee health clearance before the assignment start date; minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma operating room in a metropolitan setting; full commitment to an 8-week operating room assignment.
- Additional Information: The registered nurse will provide surgical care throughout the perioperative process and work closely with surgeons and the surgical team. Duties include patient preparation, vital-sign monitoring, instrument passing, sterile-field maintenance, and management of overall patient care during surgical procedures. The assignment duration is 8 weeks.
