🔥 40-HOUR MID-SHIFT OPERATING ROOM (OR) RN CONTRACT – WEST TEXAS
An immediate 13-week travel contract opening is available for a seasoned Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) in San Angelo, Texas. Operating within the Main Operating Room suites at an established Level II Trauma Center, this position features a desirable 5x8 mid-shift schedule (10:30 AM – 19:00 PM / 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, 40 hours guaranteed weekly). HIGH-ACUITY SURGICAL SERVICES! FIRST-TIME TRAVELERS CONSIDERED! The surgical department handles a comprehensive, fast-paced case volume spanning Level II Trauma, Ortho/Spine, Neuro, Robotics (da Vinci Xi & Mako), General, and Vascular. If you are an experienced OR circulator skilled in sterile technique, trauma resuscitations, complex multi-specialty instrumentation, and perioperative nursing looking to earn $2,667/week in Texas, this contract is built for you!

- Weekly Gross: $2,667.00
- Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,267.00
- Hourly W2 Rate: $35.00/hr (40 regular hours)
- Overtime Rate: $52.50/hr
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Mid-shifts, 5x8-Hours (10:30 AM – 19:00 PM / 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday – Friday).
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
- Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks.
- On-Call Requirements: Departmental on-call rotation required (includes weekday, weekend, and holiday call coverage; $5.00/hr call rate).
- Department Setting: Main OR / Level II Trauma Surgical Services. May occasionally function in a Charge Nurse capacity based on departmental census ($2.50/hr charge differential).
- Clinical Scope & Specialty Case Mix:
- Trauma: Penetrating injuries (GSW/stab), blunt trauma, motor vehicle collisions, emergency amputations.
- Orthopedics & Spine: Total joints, arthroscopy, fracture repair (ORIF/CRIF), ACL reconstructions, anterior cervical fusions (ACDF), lumbar fusions (ALIF), laminectomies (utilizing Hana orthopedic table).
- Neurology: Craniotomies, VP shunts, kyphoplasty.
- Robotics: Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and Mako Robotic-Arm assisted surgery (colorectal, general, urology, ortho).
- General, GYN, Urology & ENT: Laparoscopic colon resections, cholecystectomies, hernia repairs, nephrectomies, cystectomies, prostatectomies, sinus surgeries, tonsillectomies.
- Core Responsibilities: Circulating, patient positioning, surgical site prep, specimen handling, electrosurgical and laser safety, universal protocol/time-out enforcement, blood product administration, and rapid room turnover.
- EMR System: Epic (Epic experience is strictly required).

- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of dedicated acute care Operating Room (OR) clinical nursing experience, with verified background in a Level II Trauma Center. (Prior travel nursing experience is preferred; strong first-time travelers evaluated on clinical depth).
- Licensure: Active Texas RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License strictly in hand at submittal.
- Certifications Required at Submittal (Must be attached):
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification.
- Nursys Verification report.
- (PALS preferred).
